Best time to plant: Anytime it's hot!
Sun: Full sun
Winter: Frost sensitive. Mature plant can tolerate temperatures in the low 20F's
Root system: Shallow Fibrous roots
Pollination: Self, only 1 tree needed to get fruit
Size: Bush like up to 15-20ft
Water: Never let it dry its first summer in ground or it will die!
Fertilizer: Anything works
Container grown: It does well in a container due to its type of root system
Personal growing tips: Guava plants are easy to grow but you must not forget to water. Even if the soil seems moist it may not be enough for the plant to uptake the water especially in hot weather. Wet is better than dry.
